Performing Arts

Langwarrin Park Primary School has a long and proud history of fostering the Performing Arts Program. All of our students are exposed to a rich program during their 7 years of our school. We are one of the few primary schools in the state to offer a comprehensive Performing Arts and Dance/Drama Program from Foundation - Year 6.

We have a full-time Performing Arts program which students from Foundation to Year 6 participate in each week. This program includes the use of multimedia (green screen technology, video editing, film making, radio plays etc and culminates in a Year 6 production or alternatively participate in workshops e.g. A Musical In A Day. Students have the opportunity to perform in various ways throughout their 7 years at LPPS.

Our students have performed at the V.S.S.S (Victorian State Schools Spectacular) performing at Rod Laver Arena and a number of key highlighted performers at these events are past pupils of LPPS.

Our Drama Theatre is also equipped as a mini-cinema, with a great array of recording and play devices, a suspended projector and a motorized screen, as well as the theatre lights one might expect to find. This means the facility can be used as a training centre for adults. Our purpose built Dance studio has just been updated and now includes large portable mirrors.

Our school assemblies are huge productions and students are encouraged to shine in front of these regular events. If you want to get a glimpse of the Langy Park Performing Arts culture just come along to an assembly.

Sequential development of skills, in elements of dance and drama are highlighted
